(SCCRC) have partnered to create the Saratoga County Institute of Management (SCIM),<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>with the aim of supplying solutions to the challenges of retaining and fostering good employees.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of industry, there are some truths about being in business, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Staff the most valuable resource; employers<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>look for opportunities for them to develop and grow businesses promote or look to promote from within; and businesses ay not have the internal capacity to teach employees the skills they may need to grow into management or other leadership roles.<\/p>\n<p>By selecting employees to participate in this program, which starts in January, businesses will be providing them with the tools and training they need to continue to grow and excel, the organizations said.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The program is organized into three, three-month tracks. Businesses can send someone to all three tracks for advanced learning or select the individuals that will benefit most by participating in the targeted tracks.<\/p>\n<p>The learning tracks are centered around themes: Operational Management, Self-Awareness, and Management of Others.<\/p>\n<p>Each class will have no more than 24 people. Scholarships are available for impact sector organizations and small businesses. Financial support to launch this important pilot program starting is being provided by the Saratoga County Capital Resources Corp.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions in Operational Management Jan. 4 through March 29 include: orientation; moving from peer to management; basic business financials; necessary knowledge of HR and legal issues; meeting management; customer service and recruitment and retention.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions in Self Awareness from April 26 to July 26 include: orientation; DiSC communication styles for managers; mindful leadership; critical thinking; time management; communications and effective listening.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions in Management of Others from Sept. 9 include to Nov. 11 include orientation;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>followership; continuous improvement;<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>motivation techniques; performance management; conflict resolution and<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>goal setting and planning.<\/p>\n<p>Cost per employee per track is $1,500 for Saratoga County Chamber members and $2,000 for non-members.<\/p>\n<p>Each class will have no more than 24 people.
