ASA section councils are composed of member volunteers who advise the association\u2019s board of directors on sector-specific issues and design programs to meet the unique business challenges faced by those sectors of the staffing industry.<\/p>\n<p>A seasoned business attorney and healthcare staffing professional, Kernan oversees the company\u2019s legal affairs and collaborates with the company\u2019s CEO on strategic planning initiatives including establishing company policies, priorities, and business development objectives. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As general counsel, Kernan\u2019s areas of oversight and responsibility include the review, negotiation, and drafting of contracts; the implementation of best practices to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal employment, privacy, and healthcare laws and regulations; and the safeguarding of company intellectual property. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Kernan received his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Albany Law School in 2003 and his Bachelor of Arts from Bard College in 2000.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>also holds a certificate in business management from the Mason School of Business at William &amp; Mary.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stat Staff Professionals is a nurse-owned and nurse-operated professional staffing organization specializing in staffing registered nurses and allied health professionals.
