He has added a mobile service for patients that live far away.<br \/>\u00a92019 Saratoga Photographer.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>By Jennifer Farnsworth<br \/>\nHoward Vics, director of Northeast Thermography Medical Imaging Center in Clifton Park, in addition to celebrating five years in business his year, announced a new mobile option for the company.<br \/>\nThe new option, Vics said, allows providers and patients to receive valuable services without having to worry about travel.<br \/>\nNortheast Thermography Medical Imaging Center health practitioners use a screening device that looks for physiological warning signs\u2014made possible by thermography, or infrared imaging\u2014that detecting changes in the body that may signal disease. It is less intrusive than X-rays in that there no touching or compression of the body.<!--more--><br \/>\nVics said they decided to extend the business with a mobile component because they are currently seeing clients from more than three hours away.<br \/>\n\u201cPeople are looking for us. Taking our system mobile will allow us to serve communities in four or five population centers, up to an hour-and-a-half away. We will be imaging in the Queensbury and Warrensburg area; Catskill and Kingston; Bennington and Pittsfield, Utica and Oneonta and Binghamton within the next six to nine months,\u201d said Vics.<br \/>\nThe response from health care providers, Vic said, has been very positive There is a growing base of doctors interested in learning about using thermography as an adjunctive diagnostic tool, bringing it into their practices. He said they can monitor the health of patients, as well as the effectiveness of their treatment protocols.<br \/>\nVics said another important aspect is how it looks at inflammation and how it is related to chronic illness and disease.<br \/>\n\u201cIn fact, inflammation is an early stage of the disease process. Thermography is able to detect inflammatory processes in the body, often before symptoms are bad enough to get us to go the doctor. By identifying developing changes early in the process, we are able to intervene sooner. Intervention is always more effective if you catch something in the early stages of development,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nVics said all adults over the age of 30 should get a baseline study. He said the baseline will identify \u201cred flags\u201d Presuming there are no red flags, he said the real value in thermography is in the followup.<br \/>\n\u201cIt is in the followup studies that we can see if the thermal patterns are stable,\u201d he noted.<br \/>\nIf there are significant changes in the thermal patterns, those are early signs of developing physiological changes in the body. \u201cThis information empowers people to make whatever changes are necessary on their journey to good health and longevity,\u201d said Vics.<br \/>\nNortheast Thermography Medical Imaging can be reached at 518-983-6564, medthermography.com or on Facebook.
