\nThe Wesley Community in Saratoga is undergoing renovations.
\nWesley CEO Brian Nealon said the $20 million project will include apartment renovations, a memory care assisted living facility and a training center.
\nNealon said the entire project will take about three and a half years to complete, pending final approval from the city.
\nRenovations on the 37-acre property have already begun on the Springs building, the oldest part of the property, according to Nealon.
\nHe said the fifth floor of the residential building has been completed and they will continue to work their way down to lower floors, working on about a quarter of the floor at a time.
\nAOW Associates of Albany is the construction manager.
\n\u201cThe project started with Woodlawn Apartments by renovating the roofs and replacing the windows,\u201d said Nealon.
\nAbout 75 people live in the 60 senior independent living units, with an additional 40 residents in the assisted-living units.
\nWith over 600 employees, The Wesley Community has provided services and programs to seniors for 45 years.
\nThe community has amenities that include hair salons, shops, a restaurant and a cafe, pet therapy, exercise, social nights, and intellectual activities.
\nMost recently, the The Wesley Community announced its licensed home care service agency, Wesley Senior Solutions, will offer potential employees the opportunity to obtain their state home health aide certification through a new training program offered on its campus.
\nThe paid training class, which consists of both classroom and clinical hours, will take place on weekdays from July 29 through Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Applicants must attend all 12 days of training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
