Top area chefs transform the produce and meats into culinary treats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Feast of the Fields celebrates the agriculture in the Saratoga region. Officials said it remains strong partly due to Saratoga PLAN\u2019s farmland conservation efforts. Proceeds from the event support PLAN\u2019s ongoing efforts to conserve farmland and open space in Saratoga County in perpetuity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAt Feast of the Fields, guests have a chance to taste locally grown ingredients crafted by the best chefs, meet area farmers who produced the ingredients, learn about local farm businesses, and help raise funds so that Saratoga PLAN can continue helping farmland owners and municipalities permanently protect fertile soil resources and scenic views,\u201d said Maria Trabka, Saratoga PLAN executive director.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Twelve chefs will participate at this year\u2019s Feast. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Menu items include: brisket with sweet potato latke and green apple chutney, smoked Hudson Valley Fish Farm trout with Swiss chard and caviar dressing, Korean mushrooms with whole-grain rice and peppers, plum ginger crisps with anise shortbread and more. Vegan and vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This year\u2019s lineup includes: Alissa Woods from Cakes by Alissa, Dan Spitz of FatNHappy LLC,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>David Britton of Siro\u2019s Restaurant, Gordon Sacks at 9 Miles East Farm, Julian Medina of La Chula Taqueria and Latineria, Kareem NeJame from Tatu Tacos &amp; Tequila, Kim Klopstock with Lily &amp; the Rose, Matthew Bolton from SUNY Adirondack Community College Culinary Program, Shelley Smith of Smith\u2019s Pies, Thomas Gulbrandsen at Courtyard Saratoga, Tracy Kwiecien from Prime at Saratoga National, and Pam Imbesi and Felecia Garrison of Two Birds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Saratoga PLAN has permanently conserved several of the farms providing fresh ingredients. A complete listing of farm suppliers is available on the PLAN website at www.saratogaplan.org\/blog\/farms-of-feast-2019\/.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">DeCrescente Distributing Co. is providing a wide range of local fermented brews, wines, and distilled beverages. Guests can sip on a variety of drinks including local ciders and juices as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Hot Club of Saratoga will be playing music into the night. A portion of the ticket price qualifies as a tax-deductible charitable contribution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Saratoga PLAN is a nonprofit land trust that preserves the rural character, natural habitats and scenic beauty of Saratoga County so that these irreplaceable assets are accessible to all and survive for future generations. PLAN helps landowners conserve farmland, woodlands and natural habitats. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">PLAN also connects people to nature through an extensive trail network, including 10 public nature preserves open for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and kayaking.
