ReWire Energy has developed a new partnership with U.S. Light Energy, a Latham-based distributed generation energy development company, that will offer power from U.S. Light Energy\u2019s Community Solar Projects to ReWire customers across the greater Capital Region.
\nU.S. Light Energy specializes in Community Solar facilities and solar renewable energy solutions for residential, small commercial, and municipal customers.
\nAs part of the new partnership, ReWire, a family owned minority business enterprise based in downtown Saratoga Springs, will offer subscriptions to popular and flexible renewable energy program, Community Solar. This new offering comes in addition to the in-depth strategic energy consulting services offered by ReWire to commercial real estate developers, nonprofits, and government agencies, company officials said.
\nReWire is offering Community Solar subscriptions for all types of utility customers, including businesses, homeowners, renters, multifamily property owners, churches and other non-profits. These subscriptions are initiated through a simple process that enables all utility customers to share in a local, New York solar farm.
\nThe solar farms provide clean solar power to the utility\u2019s electric grid and generate energy credits for the subscribers. The energy credits are applied to subscribers\u2019 utility bills, and subscribers are then billed at a 10 percent discount for the value of the credits.
\nReWire handles the entire subscription process, meeting with each utility customer to review their energy bills and walk the subscriber through the application. Community Solar subscribers do not need to install any new equipment at their location and there is no cost to subscribe.
