We\u2019re grateful to the U.S. Mint for this recognition,\u201d said Brenda Episcopo, CEO of GSNENY. \u201cMost importantly, our Girl Scouts can see that the values we hold and the lessons we live are respected and important in today\u2019s society. We are proud not just because our founder is being honored, but also because it is a reflection on the good that Girl Scouts does for our members and our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The American Women Quarters Program highlights trailblazing women from across the country who have left a lasting impact on American history through their contributions to civil rights, public service, science, the arts and more. Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts of the United States of America in 1912. What began as a small group of 18 girls has since grown into a global sisterhood of approximately 2.5 million members.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201cAs the bank that proudly supports the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York, we are honored to present the new Juliette Gordon Low quarter,\u201d said Sarah Halliday, NBT Bank President of Commercial Banking. \u201cJuliette Gordon Low\u2019s legacy is a testament to the power of vision, courage and determination.
