(NCTWC) announced the success of its Membership Mixer held Wednesday, November 19, at Rivers Casino &amp; Resort. The sold-out event brought together 350 attendees, including construction trade professionals, labor partners, school counselors and administrators, workforce development organizations, and other stakeholders committed to strengthening the region\u2019s construction trades workforce pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Nelson of Blue-Collar StartUp and Five Towers Media served as emcee, and WRGB News (CBS 6) participated as the event\u2019s media sponsor. One of the evening\u2019s standout moments came from student speaker Lilly Anne Springer, an alumna of NCTWC\u2019s Girls Construction Summer Camps offered in partnership with Whitbeck Construction and WSWHE BOCES. Springer spoke about discovering her interest in the trades and her intention to pursue a construction career, offering a powerful example of NCTWC\u2019s mission in action.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Landers, a high school counselor at Warrensburg Central School, also offered insights for student career pathways into the trades, energizing attendees and advancing the coalition\u2019s workforce goals.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><span class=\"\"><b><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s2\"><!--more--><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>The NCTWC continues to build partnerships that support career exploration and industry awareness throughout the region. \u201cThe NCTWC Coalition is thrilled to witness the coalition\u2019s remarkable growth and the overwhelming support from both tradespeople and those who champion the trades,\u201d said Doug Ford, vice president at Curtis Lumber and NCTWC president and co-founder.<\/p>\n<p>As demand for skilled trades continues to rise, NCTWC emphasizes the importance of expanding membership to sustain outreach and strengthen connections between students, educators and employers. Membership contributions directly support student programming, help develop stronger trade-school partnerships and advance workforce development efforts across the Northeast.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, NCTWC will continue to grow its student initiatives, employer engagement and regional collaborations to ensure young people recognize the trades as a first-choice, high-opportunity career path.
