After recording the warmest March on record in Albany and Glens Falls, cities and towns across Saratoga county and the rest of the Capital Region look to start out April a bit more on the seasonable side with a relatively quiet weather pattern in place.
High pressure will dominate our weather for much of the coming workweek, with the only fly in the ointment being a weak cold front that will push through the region late on Tuesday. This front is expected to be moisture starved, so it will bring nothing more than a few rain showers into Wednesday, perhaps mixed with some snow showers across the higher terrain.
High pressure returns for mid-week with seasonably cool weather remaining in place into the Easter weekend. Temperatures will begin to moderate by Easter, but the weather looks to remain quiet with no major storm systems expected.
But remember, April showers bring May flowers, or maybe it came a month earlier this year after the record warm (and dry) March. Speaking of dry, we could certainly use some rain as nearly 30 percent of New York is now in the abnormally dry category on the latest drought index. That looks to only increase with no significant rain in sight.
