Great stuff is happening this week everyone! Your little one can try out their reading skills with a friendly Newfoundland at the library, explore the outdoors at the State Park, take part in a Junior Book Club discussion group and much more! This weekend it will be Chowderfest and Winterfest too! There is something for everyone on the schedule this week so check it out and start making your plans!
1. On Tuesday head over to the Saratoga Springs Public Library for Quinn the Tail Waggin’ Tutor from 5-6PM. Call 518-584-7860, opt. 3 each Tuesday to register your child for a 10 minute reading session with Quinn.
2. Also on Tuesday, Preschool Naturalists is from 11am-12:30pm at Saratoga Spa State Park. This is a nature class designed for children ages 3 to 5 and will focus on using all five senses to explore a certain aspect of the outdoor world. Children will also enjoy a nature related story and craft. Registration is required, call (518) 584-2000 ext 116 for more info. Fee is $3 per person or $5 per family.
3. On Wednesday there are two Preschool Open Houses to check out. Katrina Trask Nursery School is having an Open House today* 9-11 am and 6-7 pm, 24 Circular Street, Saratoga Springs. *Snow date: Friday, February 3rd from 9-11 am. The Saratoga Springs YMCA Branch will also have one today from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
4. Thursday from 6:30 to 8pm is the Saratoga Reads! Junior Book Discussion Part One at the Saratoga Springs Public Library. Fourth, fifth and sixth grade students are invited to join Saratoga Springs High School students and Skidmore students to discuss one of the junior companion books, “Phinaes Gage: A Gruesome but True Story about Brain Science” by John Fleischman. Free admission.

And on Sunday at Prestwick Chase, 100 Saratoga Blvd, Saratoga Springs from noon-3pm is the WinterFest Cardboard & Duct Tape Sled Races! They will be held on the front lawns of Prestwick Chase. There will be no charge for admission. There are no entry fees for sled contestants.
