Expected to open later this month, the new Saratoga Olive Oil will feature over 60 different olive oils, vinegars and sea salts from around the world, available for purchase in its Broadway store front. But purchasing isn’t all you can do…
All Saratoga Olive Oil products will be available for tasting as well!
And if that isn’t enticing enough to get you in the door, you should know that the dipping bread is provided by Rock Hill Bake House, the shelves are made from salvaged Adirondack timber and the walls are adorned with works from Glens Falls artist Tom Myott. Talk about a local experience!
The Saratoga Olive Oil concept was dreamed up by a Queensbury NY family: Clinton Braidwood, his wife, Barbara, and his brother, Chad.
After spending many years doing clinical research on many different diseases, the Braidwoods found that often the underlying root was obesity. It has been shown that people who consume olive oil regularly in their diets tend to be healthier, so the idea for Saratoga Olive Oil was born.
The Braidwoods are working with Veronica Foods, a California-based food company that has conducted health-related research on the products they offer and has exclusive contracts with olive groves from around the world, importing over a million gallons of extra virgin olive oil per year.
So this spring and summer, after sipping fine wines at The Saratoga Winery & Tasting Room, zip on over to Saratoga Olive Oil … and tasting room! Their Broadway shop is expected to open in mid April.
Tell us what you think! Does this sound like a good concept to you?
