Over the past 7 years, we have all come to love Mama Mia’s Pizza & Cafe on Ballston Avenue in Saratoga Springs… and now — right next door — we will all come to love Mama Mia’s Bakery!
This past weekend was the grand opening for Mama Mia’s Bakery, and there were some pretty big names present to witness the ribbon cutting.
Deputy Mayor Shauna Sutton was there and Assemblyman James Tedisco was on hand to give them a special proclamation. After all, who doesn’t love a good pastry?
Mama Mia’s Bakery will specialize in genuine Italian pastries, cookies and other goodies, so now I have something to tide me over between visits to my grandmother’s house! (My Nonnie makes the best biscotte).
For all those who don’t have an Italian grandmother, Mama Mia’s is the next best thing! So when are you planning on going to the newly opened Mama Mia’s Bakery?
Congratulations to Giuseppe. We love Mama Mia’s Pizza. An Italian Bakery and Cafe is what this town always needed.
My wife and I have been eating at Mama Mias for a while now….The food, staff and atmosphere is the best….And of course the main man Giuseppe and his wonderful wife Lorie
I just moved up to Ballston SPA a month ago. Coming from an Italian family, one thing I noticed was that there are hardly any Italian Bakeries in Saratoga County. So when a neighbor told me about Mama Mia’s I had to visit their store. Yes Mama Mia’s Pizza, opened their Italian Bakery and Cafe back in March. The atmosphere was great the showcase showed an array of pastries and Italian cookies. I ordered to go two fruit tarts and two cannolis. I couldn’t wait to go back home and taste them. The fruit tart was great. It really was delicious. Unfortunately the cannoli was very disappointing. The shell was soft and the filling was lacking something. It just didn’t taste right. For those of you who don’t know what a cannoli is. It is an Italian Pastry that originated in Sicily. It consist of a tube-like shell that was shaped from fried pastry dough and has a sweet filling consisting of ricotta. It is then topped off with confectioners’ sugar. Mama Mia’s Cannoli was lacking a something in their filling. It just didn’t taste like the stanard cannoli filling and the shell was too soft. Hopefully they will change their recipe. I will go back and will try their other pastries and of course their Italian cookies. Hopefully everythings else will taste great like the fruit tarts.
We take our out of town friends who come to the Track to Mama Mia’s and we are never disappointed. Love their pizza!
