NBC Sports Group has partnered up with the New York Racing Association and will broadcast live thoroughbred racing from Saratoga Springs, NY this summer. “Summer at Saratoga” will kick off their 7 week coverage on July 23, and will broadcast each weekend until September 3, including the renowned Travers Stakes on August 27.
Last week, NYRA chairman Steven Duncker, and president of programming at NBC Sports and VERSUS John Miller, announced the most inclusive television coverage schedule in the history of Saratoga Race Course.
NBC Sports is taking this opportunity at the Saratoga meet to expand their coverage of thoroughbred racing, which includes extended contracts for all three Triple Crown races. Following the Preakness Stakes (5/21), and of course, the Belmont Stakes (6/11), NBC will head north to Saratoga to begin the seven weekends of live coverage.

What do you think about Saratoga Race Course being broadcast live on NBC? Will you be watching from home or at the track?
I am very happy to learn that you will be broadcasting these important races live from Saratoga Race Course. I will be definitely be watching.
Thank You!
I think watching Saratoga would be much more fun if there were more telecasts instead of 1 race on Saturday.
Expand to more TV days and more races per day.
We have a get together to watch the Kentucky Derby and other races. We will do the same for the Travers race but you should expand the time a bit more or show it on Versus. Leon.
So excited to see Saratoga Springs get the attention it deserves. The city is amazing – it is about time the country can catch a glimpse in this magnificent, historic track and the city in which it lives.
