There are plenty of places to eat, and countless historic sights in Saratoga Springs, NY. But, for a quick bite at a historic location, try the McDonald’s on South Broadway. The location was one of the first McDonald’s ever opened and will reopen this Friday, June 10.
The South Broadway McDonald’s was opened in 1967, almost 45 years ago, and sold their hamburgers for 25 cents. While those days are gone, you can still enjoy a burger in the original building, which has now been upgraded and will feature two drive-thrus and a 500-square-foot community room.
The ribbon-cutting grand reopening event on June 10 at 11 a.m. and will feature a performance by The Racing City Chorus, and a meet and greet with Ronald McDonald himself. This seems like something fun to do with kids on Friday. So bring your whole family and head down to 197 S. Broadway to check it out!
I know many of you will not be as thrilled about this grand reopening as others, and so I just want to take a minute to point out again that there are so many other great (and healthy) places to eat in Saratoga. You can find a good list of Saratoga restaurants here.
If burgers were still just 25 cents a piece, how many do you think you could eat?
