Patrons, make sure to have that camera ready to whip out if you plan on taking a drive into the scenic town of Charlton, Saratoga County….and better bring your appetite too! The Charlton Tavern is one of those cozy, inviting yet spacious dining establishments that makes you want to linger long after your meal is finished (and I expect it won’t last long on your plate….delicious!) The “tavern”, as it’s known to locals, was demolished by fire a few years ago but has been completely rebuilt and refurbished; amazingly, it’s lost none of it’s famed charm and character and is better than ever!
The tavern has a popular happy hour on weeknights, with $2 off beer and wine; the kitchen is ready for your order anytime and I’ve yet to have a dish that didn’t satisfy (insider secret: try the calamari and ale-battered haddock!) Currently, live acoustic music will be performed for your listening pleasure on Wednesdays from 6:30pm-?.
As much as I love the tavern in any season, I can’t wait for cooler nights and downright winter, as they keep those fires blazing and the food and drinks coming. It really doesn’t get much better than this! For more information: charltontavern.com;
call 518-399-9951; closed Mondays.
I’m betting you’ll be a regular, too!
Thanks once again! I really enjoy following your writing 🙂
