There’s nothing better than a spicy bowl of chili on a cold winter’s day… except maybe this: the 1st Annual Chili Bowl at the Saratoga Clay Arts Center — where five “Celebrity Chefs” cook up their best chili recipes, competing to win over your taste buds!
Actually, your sense of taste and sight are both invited to this party, and it’s happening this weekend…
See, the bowls are actually hand crafted pieces of art, crafted by local clay artists! You pay $15 to purchase a bowl (which is yours to keep), and admission is just $1 or one nonperishable food item for a day of chili sampling. And don’t forget to vote on your favorite chili!
Wondering who these celebrity chefs will be? Some you might expect, and others may come as a complete surprise… let’s hope their chili is a pleasant surprise! This year’s chef lineup includes:
- Kim Klopstock from Fifty South / Lily and the Rose Catering
- Rob Chrust from Amigos Cantina
- Bob Kovachick from NewsChannel 13
- Mike McLoughlin from Curtis Lumber
- Jasper Alexander from Hattie’s
It’s the 1st Annual Chili Bowl this Saturday, January 28, 2012 — key word there being ‘annual’ — so expect to see this great event back again and again! It’s happening at the Saratoga Clay Arts Center at 167 Hayes Road in Schuylerville, NY.
I love chili, and this event sounds like it could be the perfect prelude to Saratoga Chowderfest each year! Better yet? Some of the proceeds will go to benefit Schuylerville Area Food and Emergency Relief Fund and the Food Pantry at Franklin Community Center.
Do you think you’ll attend the 1st Annual Chili Bowl this Saturday?
