The Boston Globe noted Saratoga Springs’ wonderful Summer attractions recently as a “perennial favorite.” Making a list of exciting Summer travel destinations, they were obliged to add our hometown, noting the Racetrack and Waters as well as our Restaurants and boutiques.
While Saratoga citizens basked in their area’s cultural highlights as usual, the Boston Globe noticed our vibrant and stimulating urban environment. In a series of articles about perfect travel locations, they felt required to add the increasingly famous local activities hub to their list.
The article notes the midsummer attractions while at the same time remarking its perennial character.
The first thing they noted were the fabulous and sophisticated hotel selections. From Victorian to modern, Saratoga hotels were celebrated by Globe readers everywhere. Specifically Noted were:
- The Union Gables
No less did they extol the variety of dining choices. These included the familiar ones we all love such as the following:
- Hattie’s Restaurant
- One Caroline Street Bistro
This was a series of articles geared towards tourists, so they praised our unique attractions, like SPAC and the Race Track.
Mainly, they praised our bustling downtown. As many attractions as any city, all Saratoga lacks is a long commute and the usual urban hostility.
See the full article here. This is an unusual but not undeserved degree of publicity for the local region. What’s your favorite part about Downtown Saratoga?
