One of Saratoga Lake’s most popular vacation destinations will be celebrating its revitalization with a Grand Opening on May 30! Brown’s Beach Resort has a long history dating back to the late 1800s, but has recently been re-engineered and updated into a spot where memories can once again be created for visitors and locals of all ages.

The Resort, located on Route 9P in Saratoga Springs, officially opened in July 2014 after the 9-acre property was saved from residential development by the Town of Stillwater. It is now home to Dock Brown’s Lakeside Tavern, a 60′ x 80′ enclosed outdoor pavilion for weddings and events, The Nest on Saratoga Lake (a seven-room inn), and, of course, a sandy beach.
Additional projects are underway and some are even nearing completion, including a fully-functioning marina, a beach bar and cabanas, a beachside grille, and restroom/changing facilities, according to the Resort’s official website.
The Grand Opening Celebration on May 30 will begin with a ribbon cutting at 11:00am, followed by family-style fun and games, live music, and ending with a fireworks show at 9:30. Light refreshments, Stewarts ice cream, and Brown’s Beach special hot dogs will be served. Brown’s Beach will be open for the season for public use following the Grand Opening. The town is working to hire life guards so it can open the beach seven-days-a-week.
The Grand Opening event will be appropriate for all ages. Kick off summer and officially celebrate the restoration of one of Saratoga Lake’s landmarks!

Congratulations! My mother is 95 years old and spent many many days at Brown’s Beach in the 1920s-1940s. Her father did his ‘buck and wing’ show there in the early 1900s. My mom remembers alot about Brown’s Beach in those days.
