SPAC’s Rock & Run 10k and 5K fundraiser is the perfect, high-energy kick off to summer and is a great way to support opportunities for local children to experience the performing arts.
It will take place on May 17th at SPAC beginning at 9:00 A.M. with a 1K Kids’ Run followed by the 5K and 10K races at 9:30 A.M. There will also be over 20 Capital Region bands performing along the running routes and at the free post-race party!

Marcia J. White, SPAC’s President & Executive Director stated in a press release, “Since we first introduced the ‘Rock & Run’ 5K in 2010, it has become a favorite among local runners, families and the community. The addition of the 10K race and the increase in participating bands in recent years have raised the volume on this fantastic event.”
The headlining artist for the post-race festivities will be Jocelyn Arndt, a returning favorite at the event who recently released her debut album, Strangers in Fairyland. Other top regional bands participating include The Wonderbeards, CRUSH, Let’s Be Leonard, among several others!
In addition to a fun race, post-race party and live music, there’s even more great features for participants. The first 1,200 pre-registered runners will receive moisture-wicking shirts, the top male/female finishers will receive tickets to SPAC’s Wine & Food Fall Ferrari Festival, the top male and female finishers in each age category will receive tickets to SPAC classical performances and every child participant in the Kids’ Race will receive a finisher award.
Proceeds from the race will benefit SPAC’s Vivienne Anderson Children’s Program, a special program which hosts under-served area children at select matinee performances of the New York City Ballet. The program’s goal is for the children to foster a lifelong love of the arts after experiencing them in such a meaningful way.
Early registration ends on May 10th, so register your spot today! We hope to see you at Rock & Run on May 17th!
