Starting on Opening Day, The Lodge will open as a venue for private events. It will host private parties, weddings and other types of events, for up to 200 people. In addition to private shindigs, The Lodge open at 5:00 PM for cocktails on all race days throughout the summer meet for the public. Talk about an awesome spot to grab a drink after a day at the races!
The Saratoga Casino and Raceway has been in charge of refurbishing and reopening the iconic building. The Lodge was first constructed in the 19th century as a home for Harry Payne Whitney (Yes, relative of Marylou.) Since then, it has also facilitated itself as Siro’s Trattoria.
Colleen Carlson, director of sales at Saratoga Casino and Raceway, told The Daily Gazette, “Restoring this historic space is truly an honor for us. The Lodge holds a special place in the history of Saratoga Springs and we are delighted to be able to open it to our guests during the summer meet as well as for distinctive events year-round.”
We are very excited to see what The Lodge has in store for track season and the rest of the year! What do you think about the reopening of this historic establishment?
