The Triple Crown Winner’s owner, Ahmed Zayat, is confident that if all goes well at the colt’s workout, American Pharoah will be in Spa City for the Travers Stakes on August 29th.
According to the Times Union, Zayat stated that American Pharoah, who has won eight straight races, looked fabulous at his workout on Wednesday in California. “We will breeze him Sunday, and if all systems are go, Saratoga here we come,” Zayat told the newspaper. He continued by saying that as long as American Pharoah is happy, he will continue to run him.
While Zayat seems optimistic about Pharoah’s Saratoga visit, the final decision belongs to his trainer, Bob Baffert, who told the Times Union he would not make up his mind until after the workout on Sunday.
Well, Saratoga, let’s all hope Sunday is a breeze for the Triple Crown Winner! We can’t wait to hear the final decision.
