What could be better than a farm-to-table meal while soaking in views of the Adirondacks? The Saratoga & North Creek Railway has some big plans for the future! Check out what’s in store.
The company plans to increase its dining car offerings as well as bring in new dining and lounge cars. In an effort to highlight the regions it travels through, the railroad plans to offer brunch, lunch and dinner trains, with a focus on the hearty, agricultural bounty of the Adirondack region. Menu items include a local vegetable cobb salad, grilled beef filet and more. The dining trips have been named “The Pullman’s Table.”
The concept of the Pullman Table embodies the service standard set by The Pullman Company at the turn of the century. In the past and still today, railroads have played an integral role in moving fresh produce around the country. The Pullman Table reestablishes this tradition by sourcing fresh, local ingredients for its recipes. Passengers will be able to literally and figuratively taste what the region is made of with each meal.
Angela Lane, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Premier Rail Collection stated in a press release, “The Pullman Table offered guests exceptional dining, attention to detail and high service standards that modern diners, especially those that live in and visit upstate New York, have come to expect.”
The Pullman Table will operate June 3rd through October 30th offering Friday lunch trains, Saturday dinner trains and Sunday brunch trains. Additional lunch and dinner trains will be available on Tuesdays in July and August for those looking for a unique way to spend “Dark Tuesdays” during the racing season in Saratoga Springs.
Tickets range from $99 for Standard Class and $125 for Diamond Class with an optional upgrade to a private table in both the Standard and Diamond Class for an additional per person charge. Keep in mind that private tables are limited. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday, February 11th and can be purchased on the Saratoga & North Creek Railway’s website or by phone at 877-726-7245.
We’re looking forward to checking out the SNCRR’s new dining trips this summer!
