The New York Racing Association, Inc.’s (NYRA) popular online wagering system NYRA Rewards will be replaced with NYRA Bets later this summer. The new advance deposit wagering (ADW) platform will officially launch in time for the start of the 2016 meet at the Saratoga Race Course.
The recent announcement from NYRA explains that the switch to NYRA Bets is an upgrade from its older ADW platform. NYRA Rewards is only available to New York State residents. To keep up with the growing popularity of horse racing and wagering, NYRA Bets will expand access to NYRA’s platform across the country. NYRA plans to slowly make the transition between platforms, and NYRA Rewards will remain up and running for customers until the switch.
According to NYRA’s press release about the change, “NYRA Bets will continue to offer lucrative rewards, instant signup, free funding options, express funding, no wagering transactions fees and three convenient ways to wager: on-track, online or via a mobile device.” GBE Technologies, a global leader in online wagering solutions, is working with NYRA to develop NYRA Bets.
To help lead its new ADW platform, NYRA hired Tony Allevato as President of NYRA Bets. Allevato previously worked at TVG as Executive Vice President and Executive Producer.
The 2016 Saratoga meet runs from July 22 – September 5, and NYRA believes the new NYRA Bets website will be available by then.
“We look forward to providing horseplayers across the country with access to the industry’s finest racing and most advanced technology, said Chris Kay, CEO and President of NYRA.
