The third annual “Frances Day“ at The Tang Teaching Museum is slated for Saturday, July 9. Special guests will be on hand to lead various activities, and include artists Liz Collins and Charles Steckler, poet Catherine Pond, dancer Elise Mumford, and the musical group The Parlor.
New this year are a Photography Walking Tour in and around the museum, a series of Pop-Up Dance Performances, and a live musical performance coinciding with a barbecue.
Visitors will also get an up-close view of behind-the-scenes happenings in the museum’s collections area, take a guided look at current exhibitions, participate in hands-on art making workshops, and write their own poetry.

Frances Day is free and open to the public. It is named in honor of 1961 Skidmore College graduate Frances Young Tang. Upon Tang’s passing in 1992, her family donated a generous amount of money to help build the Tang Teaching Museum, which opened in 2000. Frances Day honors Frances Young Tang’s legacy of creativity and philanthropy.
