After the resounding success of last year’s annual “Uncorking the Cure…Tapping into Hope” fundraiser, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) will host the wine, beer and spirits tasting event for its seventh straight year on June 16.

“Uncorking the Cure…Tapping into Hope” raises money for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and is organized by JDRF. According to a JDRF press release, the foundation’s mission is to support “accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.”
Last year, JDRF raised $82,000 through “Uncorking the Cure…Tapping into Hope,” which was 186% over its initial fundraising goal! For this year’s event, the goal is set higher at $100,000.
The fundraiser has a new venue this year at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga Springs. Ticketholders will be able to enjoy an evening of tastings and live and silent auction items. Local Saratoga band Soul Session will perform throughout the night.
Schmaltz Brewery, Saranac Brewery, Paradox Brewery, and Saratoga Brewing Company will be on hand for the beer tastings. Adirondack Winery and Kanes Fine Wines will offer wine pouring, while Pick Six Vodka and NYS Yankee Distillers will provide spirit tastings. Mazzone Hospitality will also be present with food pairings for the drinks.
Tickets are available online for $85 per person, and the event will run from 6:00PM – 9:00PM.
