Due to recent shortages of blood supplies across the country, the Saratoga Casino Hotel is teaming up with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive on Monday, July 25th. Read on to find out how your donation will help those in need, and how Saratoga Casino Hotel will thank those who contribute.
The Red Cross is asking for your help with the unusually low summer blood supply.
“Right now, blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in,” Patty Corvaia, Communications Manager of the New York-Penn Blood Services Region, said in a statement. “Donations are needed now to meet the needs of hospital patients in the coming days and weeks. If you’ve ever thought about giving blood and helping to save lives, now is the time to do it.”
All donors at this year’s Blood Drive will receive a $10 voucher to Lucky Joe’s restaurant in the casino.
To date, Saratoga Casino Hotel has collected over 1,000 blood donations at the biannual blood drives, which has subsequently helped nearly 3,000 patients in need.
“Our team and community always respond with great generosity to blood drives,” Rita Cox, Senior Vice President of Marketing at the Saratoga Casino Hotel, said in a statement. “We consider ourselves lucky to live and work in a community so dedicated to supporting those in need.”
