Sinclair, a new craft beer garden and coin-operated game room, will open at 17 Maple Avenue early in 2017.
On your mark, get set…
The game room will feature classic ’80s and ’90s arcade games. The coin-operated arcade games will include pinball, Ms Pac Man, NBA Jam, and Double Dragon, among others. Foosball tables will also be set up to test your nostalgic reflexes.
I will confess that I begged to know if other types of games *cough* board games *cough* would also be available in the game room, and I am pleased to report that Sinclair will be setting up a large communal table for groups to enjoy a variety of board games in addition to the arcade games and foosball tables.
“Enough about the games, what about the beer?” you ask.
Well, owner Hilary Morrison is eager to bring Saratoga the best of New York’s craft beer. Already familiar with many of our favorite craft breweries and cideries, Morrison plans to take monthly trips to emerging breweries without local distribution in the Saratoga region to showcase all the great brews available elsewhere in the state.
Food at Sinclair will be of the German-inspired, locally-sourced variety. Chef Rory Moran of Comfort Kitchen will consult with Morrison to create a menu that goes great with beer and features a playful take on bar food classics.
In an email, Morrsion told us why she felt compelled to open the new and unusual venture: “Saratoga has an incredible sense of community, and I am so excited to be part of such a great town. The beer garden and game room will be a place where everyone can enjoy outdoor vibes and have some nostalgic fun. New York state has so many great craft breweries and cideries that I can’t wait to showcase.”
Prepare to qualify
Formerly The Metro, the space at 17 Maple is ideal for Morrison’s vision. The outdoor patio area is tucked away just a block off Broadway and perfect for creating a beer garden, while the spacious inside lends itself well to an arcade room and event space.
