Not sure if you’re going to reserve seats or just grab a picnic table at the track this year? Worried about getting a table for Travers? You can reserve your table starting May 10!
Grandstand and Clubhouse seats are already on sale to the public. You will be able to reserve tables at Fourstardave Sports Bar and in the backyard Miller Lite Picnic Paddock starting May 10. If you’re looking for a table on Travers, things get a little more popular (and therefore a little more complicated), so keep reading for how to reserve your table for the Travers Stakes.
About the Miller Lite Picnic Paddock
The Miller Lite Picnic Paddock is the new name for the section in the backyard at Saratoga Race Course where guests may reserve picnic tables. The Miller Lite Picnic Paddock includes 100 picnic tables that seat up to six. These tables are adjacent to the paddock, so they have the best view of horses being saddled prior to each race! Reserved tables will be available for $60 on weekdays and $90 on weekends, including Fridays. Personal coolers are allowed in the picnic area. (Note: these reservations include your admission to the track)
About Fourstardave Sports Bar
Close to the trackside apron, the Fourstardave Sports Bar has 80 tables for paid reservation and a sports bar with an extensive craft beer selection, popular food vendors, and 60 flat-screen televisions for post time. Configurations are available for parties of two, four, and six. Personal coolers and outside food and beverage are not permitted in the sports bar. (Note: these reservations include your admission to the track)
How to Reserve Tables at the Track
All reserved table reservations in 2017 will include admission to the track. Reserved seating in the Miller Lite Picnic Paddock or the Fourstardave Sports Bar will be available for all race days except Travers starting May 10 at 10 am through ticketmaster.com.
Reserved Tables for Travers
Here’s where things get a little more complicated. Travers Day is always the most popular of the summer meet at Saratoga. New this year, fans can guarantee themselves a reserved table at Fourstardave Sports Bar or the Miller Lite Picnic Paddock to witness the $1.25 million Travers on Saturday August 26 by purchasing a reserved table flex plan. If you don’t want a flex plan, you can still enter the lottery for a table.
Travers Day tables at Fourstardave Sports Bar will be $80 for two, $140 for four, and $180 for six. All prices include admission.
Travers Day tables in the Miller Lite Picnic Paddock will be $160. All prices include admission.
What is a Reserved Table Flex Plan?
The Reserved Table Flex Plan gives you the convenience of a reserved table for seven days of your choice during the 2017 season, including Travers Day. These plans are available through the NYRA Box Office by calling 844-NYRA-TIX.
What If I Don’t Want a Reserved Table Flex Plan?
A special drawing will be held for half of the reserved table seating inventory for Travers Day. If you are interested in a reserved table for Travers, you can enter the lottery at www.nyra.com/saratoga/tickets/travers-drawing May 10-May 24. Season pass holders who are selected in the drawing will not be charged individual admission for themselves or any guests in their party who provide proof of a season ticket or pass.
The drawing is limited to one submission per person. Winners will be drawn at random and notified by phone. You will have 48 hours to claim your ticket by contacting the NYRA Box Office by phone at 844-NYRA-TIX or email at boxoffice@nyrainc.com. If you do not contact the box office within 48 hours, you will forfeit your entry and a new name will be drawn. If you are not selected, you will not be contacted.
Why We Recommend Reserving a Table or Seats at the Track
The backyard at the Saratoga Race Course includes approximately 950 picnic tables available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis. You can “reserve” these tables day-of by getting up early and putting your tablecloth down, then coming back in time for the races. But there’s no guarantee you’ll get a table, and often lines to grab the best tables start early and are very long. For popular race days and weekends, we definitely recommend reserving seats or a table at either Fourstardave’s or the Miller Lite Picnic Paddock to guarantee your party has a spot!
