Are you an art lover? An antiques enthusiast? Someone who cherishes a good deal? In any case, you won’t want to miss the Adelphi Hotel Estate Sale on Friday, June 23 through Sunday, June 25 in Clifton Park! With furniture, art, decor, and collectibles from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s for sale throughout the weekend, there’s a piece of Saratoga Springs history for everyone to enjoy.
Take Some History Home With You
Originally built in 1877, The Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga Springs overflowed with Victorian charm, from beautiful antique furniture in each room to the front doors of the hotel. Now, 140 years after its opening, The Adelphi Hotel wants to help you make Queen Victoria herself jealous of your decorating prowess and your ability to find a great deal.
The Adelphi Hotel, Saratoga Springs’ landmark boutique hotel, will reopen this summer following a multi-year renovation. The historic property has been re-imagined with a modern twist on timeless ideas, featuring a luxury design that incorporates art, objects, and furniture from the original hotel. Although many items have been re-purposed to retain the air of elegance in the updated guest rooms, there is still an abundance of antiques that need to find a new home – that’s where you come in.
After its first successful sale in February, The Adelphi Hotel is once again making its one-of-a-kind pieces available for sale to the public. Thousands of the remaining items from the hotel have been transported to a 10,000 square foot warehouse located at 16 Fairchild Square (take Exit 10 off Ushers Road) in Clifton Park. Running from Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25, you can browse and buy to your heart’s content from 9 am to 5 pm each day.
What’s For Sale?
If you have anywhere from $1 of spare change to spend or want to splurge on an antique for $1000, there are plenty of pieces to choose from. The Adelphi Hotel Estate Sale has thousands of items which are already priced, and they are priced to sell! Most items are inexpensive, with specialty and larger pieces at the higher end of the price range.
Tired of staring at a blank wall in your home? Fill that space with one (or more!) of the 400-500 pieces of art from the late 19th and early 20th century that are available at a variety of prices. Find your new favorite Victorian styled couch or chair from the Adelphi Hotel’s rooms and lobby. Buyers with every type of budget can find something unique, including:
- Decorative Items
- Dressers
- Tables
- Mirrors
- Lamps
- Wall Sconces

- Chandeliers
- Kitchenware (pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, glassware, etc.)
You could also bring home an 18 foot tall Christmas tree in preparation for the holidays, keep time with a Waterbury Regulator Calendar clock from the Civil War era, or purchase the hotel’s original doors. Worried about the size of your new couch? Don’t worry! There will be a truck on hand at the warehouse to deliver larger pieces for buyers.
About the Adelphi
In the late 1800’s The Adelphi Hotel opened as a 150 room hotel in Saratoga Springs. It was the only hotel of it’s time that was able to convert to electricity and indoor plumbing, decreasing its room numbers, but offering modern and luxurious amenities for its guests. The historic building was purchased in 2012 and has since undergone extensive renovation. Keep an eye out for the hotel’s re-opening later this summer!
