In the mood to tap your toes to some great music? The Saratoga Performing Arts Center has got you covered! Beyond the offerings on their amphitheater stage, SPAC presents after-hours “Live at the Jazz Bar,” a brand new series of 7 evenings featuring live jazz music at the Hall of Springs this July and August.
Break it Down at the Jazz Bar
If you just attended a SPAC concert and want the music to continue, or you’re in the mood to jump back in time to the jazz era, be sure to stop in to “Live at the Jazz Bar” this summer! Grab some chicks and some cool cats because for 7 evenings this summer SPAC invites the public to come out and hear live jazz music in the Hall of Springs “Jazz Bar”. Admission is free and a ticket to the night’s SPAC performance is not necessary for entry.
Beginning on Tuesday, July 11, the Hall of Springs will open its doors from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. for relaxing, socializing, and the enjoyment of jazz music. Other dates include:
- Saturday, July 15
- Wednesday, August 2
- Saturday, August 5
- Wednesday, August 9
- Saturday, August 12
- Friday, August 18
In addition to a cash bar, there will be a menu of craft cocktails, tapas, and other light dining options from Mazzone Hospitality available at the Jazz Bar. The events are sponsored by Freihofer’s Baking Company, the longtime title sponsor of SPAC’s long-running Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival (don’t miss it this Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25!).
The famous composer George Gershwin once said, “Life is a lot like jazz… it’s best when you improvise.” So mix up your usual summer routine, be hip, and make your way to SPAC and the Hall of Springs for these jazzy and fun-filled live music performances.
Hey Daddy-o, Who’s Playing?
Spanning various decades of inspiration and multiple jazz styles, the Jazz Bar will feature acclaimed regional and New York City based ensembles. Among those groups slated to perform are the region’s premier gypsy swing ensemble Hot Club of Saratoga, pianist and composer Chuck Lamb, and Alta Havana with a fresh take on traditional Cuban music.
