If you’re heading to a classical performance at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, get there early – you won’t want to miss this! The Home Rangers competition kicks off Thursday, July 13th at 6pm before the New York City Ballet performance. Two chefs will battle head to head with one hour to create a two-course meal right on the SPAC lawn.
A total of six home chefs, including last year’s Grill Games Champion, Ryan Moore, will be fighting for the Home Rangers Champion title. The winner then gets to challenge Celebrity Chef Suvir Saran on September 9th during the Saratoga Wine & Food Festival Grand Tasting. The 5 competitors in addition to Moore were selected by Times Union blogger Steve Barnes based on their submitted two-course meals. Barnes will be judging the competition alongside Tom Thibeault from Adirondack Appliance.
Home Rangers will take place during the pre-performance tasting event, BlueStarry Nights @ SPAC where classical performance attendees can enjoy a complimentary tasting of local gourmet foods, craft beer, and spirits before the show.
Catch the preliminary rounds July 13th, August 3rd, and August 10th. 3 Semi-finalists will compete on August 17th for the spot in the final against Chef Saran.
