Are you a high school or college student? Are you currently active with – or have been active in the past with – the Saratoga County Fair or the New York State Showpeople’s Association? If you answered yes to both of those questions, you could apply for a $1,000 scholarship!
About the Scholarships
The New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs (NYSAAF) and New York State Showpeople’s Association (NYSSA) are currently accepting applications for their 2018 college scholarships. Up to seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in New York State.
Current high school and college students who are involved with, or have been involved before with, the Saratoga County Fair or NYSSA are qualified to submit an application, regardless of their field of study. Although, additional consideration might be given to applicants pursuing a degree in a field related to agriculture.
Last year, the scholarship recipients included students going into animal science, nursing, fashion and textiles, and other areas, in addition to agricultural business development.
More information is available through the Saratoga County Fair, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Saratoga County, or from local high school guidance offices.
You can print out applications at nyfairs.org. Applicants from Saratoga County must submit their applications through the Saratoga County Fair by Friday, April 2, 2018.
About the Saratoga County Fair
This year will be the 177th anniversary of the Saratoga County Fair, which has a longstanding tradition of family-friendly fun in the Saratoga area. The fair is taking place July 24th through the 29th.
You can look forward to a rodeo, live music performances, domestic and exotic animals, and much more.
