Every day of the summer racing meet, the Community Outreach Booth at Saratoga Race Course helps non-profits raise awareness and hold fundraisers. On Friday, August 24, the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and Saratoga Race Course will host the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council’s annual food and essential goods drive at the booth. About the Drive
Taking place on the eve of Travers Day, the Saratoga County EOC Food Drive coincides with New York Showcase Day and the annual Red Jacket Ceremony at the Race Course. It’ll be a big day at the track, with six New York-bred stakes including the $250,000 Albany and $200,000 Funny Cide, plus the induction of two-time Triple Crown winning trainer Bob Baffert into the Saratoga Walk of Fame!
From 11 AM to 5 PM, you can drop by the Community Outreach Booth on the Jockey Silks Room Porch to make a donation to the drive. Suggested items include toiletries and non-perishable dry or canned goods, such as:
- Peanut butter,
- Canned vegetables,
- Conditioner, or
As a thank-you for your support, NYRA will be giving out 2018 Saratoga baseball caps while supplies last. You can receive yours by donating just three items or more.
