Held in November every four years, the U.S. midterm elections are an important time for voters as the results can influence Republican or Democratic control of the House of Representatives and Senate. In advance of this year’s midterms on November 6, 2018, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) will face off against Republican challenger Chele Farley in a debate at Skidmore College on October 21.

Both sides agreed to the debate about a month ago as a way to promote their differing campaigns and help potential voters make a decision before the midterms arrive. Skidmore College previously hosted a debate between Senator Gillibrand and challenger Wendy Long in October 2012.
This year’s debate will be held on October 21 at 7:00pm in the Helene Filene Ladd Concert Hall, part of Skidmore College’s Arthur Zankel Music Center. Although online tickets have sold out, the debate will be broadcast live statewide on Spectrum News stations. You can also call the Skidmore College Box Office at 518-580-5321 for additional ticket availability information.
