The New York City Ballet is one of the world’s preeminent dance companies, and each summer they present stunning ballets and pieces at SPAC during their residency. This year, their residency will run from July 16-20 and once again feature four distinct programs, including:
- The story ballet Coppélia
- An evening dedicated to Balanchine and Tchaikovsky
- A program showcasing three SPAC premieres by 21st century choreographers
The annual New York City Ballet Gala will take place on July 20 and showcase George Balanchine’s Apollo, Christopher Wheeldon’s This Bitter Earth, and a new piece by NYCB Resident Choreographer and Soloist Justin Peck.

For 2019, the acclaimed Philadelphia Orchestra will perform at SPAC during their three-week residency from July 31 – August 17. The highlight of their residency will be 19 SPAC premieres of both classical masterpieces and innovative contemporary compositions, such as Mason Bates’ Anthology of Fantastic Zoology.
In addition, you can look forward to the return of SPAC’s Cinema Series, a lineup of established and emerging artists making their SPAC debut, and two weeks of concerts under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Music Director of The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Metropolitan Opera.

From August 4-20, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) will bring a roster of internationally known artists to the Spa Little Theater. Audiences will go on a musical journey as CMS presents six programs of 23 works that they have never performed at SPAC.
