Memorial Day Weekend has arrived in Saratoga, and while many of us are ready to celebrate the unofficial start of summer, it’s important to remember those who gave their lives for the U.S. In our latest weekend roundup, we’ve highlighted a number of Memorial Day parades and ceremonies, as well as festivals where you can have fun with the family.
Remember Our Fallen Heroes
Friday, May 24
The annual Greenwich Memorial Day Parade will be held at 6:00pm on Friday evening. The parade will line up along Washington Street and then proceed along Main Street to Abeel Avenue and the VFW Post 7291 building.
South Glens Falls Memorial Day Parade 2019
Friday, May 24
Join the South Glens Falls community on Friday for their Memorial Day Parade, which will begin at the corner of Main Street and William Street at 6:00pm. After traveling down Main Street, the parade will end at Village Triangle Park.
Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Flag Placement and Memorial Day Ceremony
Saturday, May 25
This Saturday, flags will be placed at the gravesite of every veteran buried at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. After the flag placement, there will be a Memorial Day ceremony recognizing the sacrifices made by these fallen heroes.
Memorial Day: Remembering Soldiers from VA, PA, and NJ
Monday, May 27
Saratoga National Historical Park will present a special event honoring Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey officers and soldiers who lost their lives at Saratoga back in 1777. Ceremonial readings will take place at the park at 11:00am and 3:00pm.

Plan a trip to the Saratoga County Fairgrounds this weekend and enjoy live folk music during the GottaGetGon Folk Festival. A variety of established and young/new musicians are scheduled to perform, and all events will take place in covered buildings.

Close out your Memorial Day Weekend with a BBQ at The Adelphi Hotel on Monday from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Enjoy open fire pit grilling, classic BBQ style fare, lawn games, music, and more. Admission varies.
Hattie’s Annual Crawfish Festival
Monday, May 27
Fill up on fresh crawfish, fried chicken, gumbo, and more at Hattie’s Annual Crawfish Festival in downtown Saratoga. Their popular annual festival will also include live music from The Garland Nelson Ensemble and Greg Deluis.

Saratoga Lions Club 15th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Duathlon and 5K Run/Walk
Sunday, May 26
Lace up your running shoes and strap on your biking helmet for a good cause at the Saratoga Lions Club 15th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Duathlon and 5K Run/Walk. The outdoor event will take place at the Saratoga Casino Hotel on Sunday morning, and proceeds will benefit the mission of the Saratoga Lions Club.
