A week before he is inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, legendary New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera will be honored at Saratoga Race Course. As part of the Opening Weekend festivities, a special luncheon and ceremony will take place at the historic racetrack in celebration of Mariano Rivera Day.

Nicknamed “Mo,” retired Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera is recognized as baseball’s greatest closer, and as such, he is the first player to be unanimously elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The annual Induction Ceremony will be held at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown on Sunday, July 21, but before then, Rivera will head to Saratoga Race Course for a luncheon and ceremony on Friday, July 12.
Friday’s luncheon is scheduled for 12:00pm-1:30pm at the Paddock Tent, and during it, fans will have the chance to meet the 13-time All-Star and enjoy a buffet lunch, Q&A session, photo opportunities, and more. This event is limited to the first 100 fans, and tickets are $250 per person. Proceeds will benefit one of Rivera’s charitable endeavors.

In addition, Mariano Rivera Day will feature a Winner’s Circle ceremony in which Rivera will address and thank the fans in attendance.
