Help support permanently disabled jockeys, attend an autograph signing, and place your bets on Preakness winner War of Will at the Grade 2 Jim Dandy this weekend at the Track. Attend the track this Saturday, July 27, as the Saratoga Race Course honors Permanently Disabled Jockeys’ Fund (PDJF) Awareness Day.

Meet some of Saratoga’s jockeys and get their autographs on the Jockey Silks Room Porch from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm. The event is free, but fans are encouraged to donate to the PDJF. Those who donate $5 or more will receive a poster and be entered into a drawing to win a framed “150 Years of Racing at Saratoga” print.
After the signing, stop by the Community Outreach Booth, also on the porch, to find out more about the fund. The PDJF raises awareness for jockeys who have been seriously injured while racing, assists them with expenses and medical coverage, and funds research to held prevent injuries in the future.
Saturday is also a big day out on the track, as it marks the annual Grade 2, $600,000 Jim Dandy. Several notable winning horses and Triple Crown competitors will be running in the race, including War of Will, the 2019 Preakness Winner. Other horses include Tacitus, Laughing Fox, Tax, Mihos, and Global Campaign. Also on slate are the Grade 1, 350,000 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap and the Grade 2, 250,000 Bowling Green.
