Saratoga Performing Arts Center announced that it will offer various dance workshops for all children through its partnerships with New York City Ballet (NYCB), National Dance Institute (NDI), and Double H Ranch. These workshops will be offered for free as part of SPAC’s commitment to arts education. Workshops will be customized for young children, ballet students, and dancers with disabilities.

New York City Ballet dancers will lead a “Children’s Workshop” and an “In Motion Workshop” on Tuesday, July 13 on the SPAC amphitheater stage in addition to an “Access Workshop” at the School of the Arts studios on Saturday, July 17.
Camp is back in session at Double H Ranch this summer! The fun and activities will continue for over 250 campers with the National Dance Institute bringing virtual dance workshops to camp on Friday, July 9 and Friday, July 30. The workshops will be free.
Workshops are designed with the assistance of a licensed pediatric physical therapist and incorporate NDI’s award-winning dance pedagogy. Children of all abilities can dance and perform during these workshops at camp. In addition to learning basic dance and movement skills, campers will also be challenged to test their teamwork, creativity, empathy, and discovery skills. At the end of camp, campers will take the choreography learned at the workshops and perform at the camp Talent Show celebration held at the end of each session.
These NDI workshops virtually held at Double H Ranch are made possible by the generous support of Lois and Matt Emmens.
SPAC Senior Director of Education, Dennis Moench expressed excitement regarding the upcoming dance workshops, stating in a press release, “While NYCB is in town, we find as many opportunities as possible to promote dance education, and to make dance more accessible to children of all ages and abilities. We are thrilled to once again partner with New York City Ballet and with National Dance Institute to bring their dance education programs back to children in the greater Capital Region this month.”
