On April 19, 2021, Abigail Jenks, a 20-year-old paratrooper with the U.S. Army, was killed during a training exercise while stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Abigail was a Saratoga Springs High School grad and Saratoga County resident, as well as a lifelong artist.
To honor her daughter’s legacy, Wesley Health Care Center LPN Mary Jenks will display Abigail’s artwork at Wesley Health Care Center throughout the month of September.

Sharing Abigail’s Passion With Wesley Residents
Each month, Wesley Health Care Center presents a different local artist at the Wesley Art Gallery on the first floor of the Victoria Building. Throughout this September, the Art Gallery will feature over 70 pieces of art created by Abigail over the years.
The exhibit was curated by Abigail’s mother Mary Jenks as a way to showcase a different side of Abigail’s life. Her artworks cover a variety of themes and subjects, including animals, mythical creatures, and Saratoga favorites like horses and ballerinas.
Due to current health and safety precautions, the in-person art exhibit is only open to residents and staff of Wesley Health Care Center. However, a slideshow featuring the artworks that are currently on display in the Art Gallery is available for viewing on The Wesley Community’s website.
