Get Ready for Spring Kayaking, a New Restaurant, and More
Paddling Season Has Begun at the Kayak Shak
The weather has warmed up in Saratoga Springs, which makes now the perfect time for a paddling trip. As of today, May 6, the local Kayak Shak is officially open for the season. Book a kayak or stand up paddle board rental from the shop and explore the great outdoors.
A New Locally Owned Restaurant Aims to Open in Clifton Park Soon
Clifton Park is getting a new “hometown” restaurant called The Flats Restaurant & Bar, which will be locally owned and operated by Mel Hathaway, who has years of experience in the restaurant industry. The Flats is located at 675 Grooms Road, and when it opens, customers can look forward to enjoying elevated tavern fare in an industrial-style dining area.
Although an opening date hasn’t been announced, their Facebook page notes that they hope to open soon and are hiring now.
See What’s Going on at Saratoga Race Course
Spring training is underway at the Oklahoma Training Track, and if you’d like to see some of the action, then be sure to stop by this season. For the best view of the horses, head over to the Whitney Viewing Stand, which is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00am-10:00am. Admission is free.
In addition, the New York Racing Association, Inc. has announced that there will be a three-day job fair at Saratoga Race Course’s 1863 Club from May 19 – 21. Saratoga Race Course is looking to fill a variety of positions for the 2022 summer meet, including hospitality ambassadors, guest services, cashiers, parking attendants, and more.
Take a Trip to Lakeside Farms for Baked Goods & More
If you’re in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or even fresh baked pies, Lakeside Farms in Ballston Lake has what you need. This restaurant, bakery, gift shoppe, and garden center is a popular spot to visit from spring through fall, and they recently opened for the season on April 28.
