Live music is making a big comeback this year, and many of our favorite events are returning as well. In fact, after a two-year hiatus, the annual Mostly Modern Festival has kicked off its three-week celebration of modern classical music right here in Saratoga Springs. From June 8 – 24, the Mostly Modern Festival will shine a spotlight on music by living composers from around the world, with an occasional foray into the past. Concerts will take place at the Arthur Zankel Music Center at Skidmore College, and tickets are available now.

The Town of Greenfield Gets a New Public Playground
On Monday, June 6, the Town of Greenfield celebrated the opening of a new “green” playground with a special ribbon cutting. Located at Brookhaven Golf Course & Park at 333 Alpine Meadows Road in Porter Corners, this state-of-the-art playground was built using KOMPANPlaygrounds’s new GreenLine products, which are developed from repurposed materials such as ocean waste and fishing nets. The playground features two slides, a spinning pole, an arc tunnel climbing net, and more, and it’s recommended for ages 2-12.
Welcome Back to Yaddo! The Gardens Are Open to the Public

After over a year of being closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gardens at Yaddo have officially reopened. Garden volunteers have worked hard to prepare the property for visitors, and as of June 6, Yaddo is open Monday through Friday, 11:00am-4:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am-4:00pm, for self-guided tours. Limited parking is available at the entrance to the Gardens. If you’re interested in a drop-in guided tour this summer, those are expected to begin on June 25. Visit their website for full details.
