What’s better than one Art in the Park? Two!! Saratoga Arts is joining forces with the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF), to bring a special equine-themed Art in the Park to Congress Park on Saturday, July 23rd! In celebration of the 2022 summer meet at the historic Saratoga Race Course, this inaugural July event will be underwritten by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA). Their sponsorship is allowing Saratoga Arts to offer a total of 10 free booths: five to Thoroughbred Aftercare and Equine-related charities and five to local community organizations serving the Saratoga Springs community!
Between 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, you can stroll through the Park, listen to music, watch artist demos, and check out a variety of art and crafted work from both local and national artists, including drawings, paintings, photography, pottery, ceramics, jewelry and much much more.

Along with learning more about the charities that will be there, and browsing the wares of local and national artists throughout Congress Park, the goal of this inaugural July event is to bring awareness to the two non-profit organizations who have partnered to make this extra Art in the Park happen: the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and the Community Arts Center at Saratoga Arts.
“It is through collaborations and working with community partners like TRF that we help make the arts even more accessible to all and provide affordable spaces for all types of artists and makers to display and sell work during peak summer season. We are so excited to play a part in expanding Arts and Culture events like this one in the heart of downtown, enriching the region for both our visitors and residents alike and bringing awareness to both our organizations.” said Louise Kerr, Saratoga Arts Executive Director.
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation is the oldest Thoroughbred rescue in the country. This national organization is devoted to saving horses no longer able to compete, giving them the lifetime care they deserve. In addition, their incredible TRF Second Chances program, located at nine correctional facilities across the U.S. and one juvenile justice facility. provides incarcerated individuals the opportunity to build life-changing vocational skills in equine care and stable management. Program graduates get a second chance at life upon release from prison, and the thoroughbred horses enjoy a second career after racing.
Saratoga Arts is an organization focused on making arts accessible to the greater Saratoga community through exhibitions, art education, grants for artists, and other free programs. They also work with other organizations in the region to help bring a greater understanding of the powerful role the arts play in personal enrichment and community development.
The rain date for July 23rd’s Art in the Park is July 30th. and the traditional fall Art in the Park is September 17th, with a rain date of October 1st.
