Summer Pool Season Is Underway at Saratoga Spa State Park
The weather is heating up in Saratoga Springs, but luckily, you and your family can cool off at the Victoria Pool and Peerless Pool in Saratoga Spa State Park. Both pools opened for the season last weekend on June 25, and they will be open daily from 10:00am-6:00pm through September 5. While the Victoria Pool has an admission fee, there is no fee to use the Peerless Pool (state park admission costs still apply).
Go for a Walk Along Moreau Lake State Park’s Canoe Planter Trail
Do you enjoy hiking and breathing in that fresh air? Plan a visit to Moreau Lake State Park and check out the new Canoe Planter Trail, which travels around Moreau Lake.
The Canoe Planter Trail is a trail project that started out with the idea to re-purpose 8 abandoned canoes as planters and place them throughout the state park. Thanks to some help from local schools and youth groups who designed and painted the canoes with nature inspired themes, this idea is now a reality, and the Canoe Planter Trail is open to park visitors. Celebrate Opening Day at the Track With Live Music
Opening Day at Saratoga Race Course is July 14, but after the races end, the fun will continue in the Spa City with Celebrate Saratoga. This performance-driven event will be presented by the Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association and feature free live music at multiple venues throughout the downtown area.
In addition, local storefront windows will be decorated as part of the celebration, welcoming visitors to Saratoga Springs and the racetrack. These window displays will be judged by legendary horse racing announcer Tom Durkin, NEWS10 ABC Saratoga Race Course reporter Cassie Hudson, and local Family Ties actor and financial consultant Scott Valentine. The winners of the Window Decorating Contest will be announced on the main stage Thursday night and broadcast live on NYRA-TV.
