One thing about Saratoga, NY that is especially endearing is the diversity of things to do. Whether it’s finding your best buys on Broadway, enjoying your walk in the Saratoga Spa State Park, placing your best bets at the Saratoga track, visiting the Saratoga Springs History museum, or singing along at SPAC, there’s enough variety of entertainment to please any preference.
Another special quality found in Saratoga, NY is its focus on holistic, mind-body healing and the integrative service providers that find their businesses nestled here. Increasingly, ancient philosophies which were once dismissed as “mystical” are now becoming more mainstream. In fact, many have recently been explored in research and are being found to be effective. For example, natural remedies like essential oils have been shown to support many aspects of the mind-body-spirit, as viewed through various lenses of healing approaches.
Recently I shared a social media post in my Essential Oils Recipe Group about using essential oils to balance chakras. It was one of my most in-demand links. Due to the popularization of yoga today, many have become familiar and intrigued with this subtle energy body of the mind–body’s central regulating system.
Chakras originated in ancient healing practices, with the earliest mentions in the Upanishads within Indian Literature (600-300 BCE). Later, Ayurvedic medical and Yogic traditions provided systematic descriptions (300 BCE- 400 CE). Today, various practices to balance chakras are being increasingly integrated into the protocols of holistic practitioners.
In my latest post, I discuss the connection of chakras and the nervous system and how this link blends modern medicine with traditional wisdom. I then highlight how essential oils may support both approaches.
Topics include:
✔️ Ancient medicine meets modern science: How the chakras link to the nervous system
✔️ The vagus nerve and the chakras
