After a pea soup kind of morning where the region was socked into some thick fog, temperatures will rebound into the 70’s ahead of an approaching frontal boundary this afternoon. But the unseasonably mild weather will not last as a series of strong cold fronts will move through the region this weekend.
Temperatures are expected to drop through the weekend with occasional rain chances, not the ideal weekend for leaf peeping around the region.
The chilly air mass behind the fronts will also threaten to bring a widespread frost to the region by early next week, potentially ending the growing season for many.
A series of cold fronts over the weekend will bring much colder weather to the region by Columbus Day.
