1. Wednesday, November 28th will be the Festival of Trees Preview Reception from 6-8pm and reservations are required. Get a sneak peek at over 250 trees, wreaths and centerpieces decked out for the holidays before the Festival of Trees opens to the general public. ‘Unwrap the Magic’ is a great way to beat the crowd and donate to a great cause! While the Festival of Trees is a family-friendly event, the preview reception is geared towards adults with sumptuous appetizers and wine provided by Longfellows and Olde Bryan Inn and live entertainment by local musicians. $60 donation to benefit Catholic Charities of Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties. 2. Too much turkey this past weekend? Check out Simple Steps To Work off Holiday Food Overload at the Saratoga Springs Public Library on Thursday November 29th from 12 to 1pm. The average American consumes an extra 600 calories per day between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, which can translate into several pounds and inches. Michael Lapolla, exercise physiologist (BS in Exercise Science, Ithaca College) and owner of Saratoga Health and Wellness Center, will talk about fitness, show some helpful exercise routines, and field questions from the audience. 3. The 8th Annual Saratoga Restaurant Week starts this Friday! Running from November 30- December 6th get a 3-Course dinner for just $10, $20 or $30 at participating Saratoga County restaurants during Saratoga Restaurant Week! Start off with your choice of an appetizer or salad, then choose from a menu of sumptuous entrees, and top it off with a decadent dessert! Plus some participating restaurants are offering lunch specials for just $5 or $10. Saratoga Restaurant Week is the perfect time to get out and try new restaurants in the Spa City!
4. I’m loving this free party to benefit the Franklin Community Center, the ‘CameraPhone’ fundraiser at Pink Raven Tattoos! On Saturday, December 1st from 5-8 check out the exhibit of Instagram and phone photos, running from Dec. 1 to 31 at Pink Raven Tattoos, 55 Beekman St. in Saratoga Springs. The opening reception is a benefit for the Franklin Community Center, and prints of all the images will be sold for $10 to benefit the nonprofit (yours truly has a photo in the show)! The business also will donate 20 percent of every gift card sold in the name of Franklin Community Center to the organization from Dec. 1 through Dec. 31st.
5. On Sunday at the Saratoga Springs Public Library is the Adult & Teen Gingerbread House Workshop from 2:30 to 4pm, admission is free. Who says gingerbread house making is just for kids?
