Celebrity visits are beginning to become commonplace in the Capital Region – Bobby Flay is returning to Saratoga in August, Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper have been sighted filming in Schenectady, and now Kevin Dillon of “Entourage” fame is going to be in Saratoga on Friday night!
The star of the HBO series “Entourage”, perhaps with other members of the cast, will be present at 1 Nelson Avenue on July 22 for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Siro’s Trattoria.
We called to find out the time of the ribbon cutting ceremony, and were told 7:30pm – 8:45pm. To find out for yourself and for further information, contact the restaurant at 584-798.
An offshoot of the well-known Siro’s Restaurant, the new Trattoria will open with a new Lawn Bar, full private dining rooms, open yet intimate dining areas, fireplaces (cozy in winter), and an event tent that can accommodate 350 people.
All of this comes after a half-million was spent in improvements, transforming 1 Nelson from it’s former inhabitant, “The Lodge”, to its new incarnation.
So why is Kevin Dillon interested in this ribbon cutting ceremony, aside from the free hor d’ouvres and wine, and the chance to meet Saratoga’s public (all of whom are invited)?
Since last summer, Dillon and and co-star Kevin Connolly have been among many big names to invest in Siro’s.
The two-story structure where Siro’s Trattoria now stands was originally an early 20th-century house owned by local businessman, horseman and philanthrpist Harry Payne Whitney.
Now in the 21st century, the address will be the new destination for a new generation of local and national names, hungry for the famous fresh Mediterranean-Italian cuisine.
Currently, Siro’s Trattoria is open from 6pm, Wednesday through Sunday. When the track opens tomorrow, Trattoria will expand its hours to include Tuesday.
