In case you haven’t heard, we get to tell Home Depot where to spend $1 million dollars…in grant money, that is! Through their new monthly program, Aprons in Action, Home Depot will be giving away $25,000 Home Depot gift cards to nonprofit organizations each month, and the Saratoga County RPC – VETHELP has been selected as a contender for this nationwide event for the month of April!
How can our local Saratoga County RPC (Rural Preservation Co.), an organization that operates two transitional facilities for homeless veterans, win the $25,000? This is where social media and helping our neighbors go hand in hand! With your Facebook votes!
Go to Aprons in Action on The Home Depot’s Facebook page and take a look at the proposed projects for each organization. Home Depot, through the volunteer work of their associates, has already done some work, but much more needs to be done.
The four finalists for April, including the Saratoga County RPC – VETHELP are currently featured on the Home Depot’s Facebook page. Each day this month, log onto Facebook and vote for this amazing organization that provides housing, employment assistance, and other support for homeless veterans and their families in our area.
Voting closes on May 1 at noon and the winner will be announced May 2 at noon!
The nonprofit organization that gets the most votes and meets a few other criteria, will win the $25,000 gift card from the Home Depot and volunteer assistance from Team Depot. You can support a great cause just by getting on Facebook and clicking “VOTE” next to Saratoga County RPC – VETHELP.
