Open year-round, the beautiful Moreau Lake State Park is home to gorgeous cliffs, quiet forests and winding hiking trails. How could it get any better?
Moreau Lake State Park is expanding! The Park is acquiring the land that was once property of the Mount McGregor prison.
State Parks Commissioner, Rose Harvey, told The Saratogian that she does not know when the finished product is expected to be completed. She continued by stating, “We’re really happy with what we believe will be the conclusion. We’re adding really natural beautiful lands that make the connection to different parts of Moreau State Park.”
Along with the land expansion, new camper cabins will be built throughout the park, as well.
In addition to Moreau Lake, other State Parks are also expecting some changes…
The state has announced that they will be investing $900 million dollars to the states most popular parks by the end of 2020.
The investment will be used towards upgrading facilities and replacing infrastructure.
The Saratoga Spa will be able to take on a diverse range of projects because of this investment. This includes newly paved trails, restored pavilions, an improved Victoria Pool and preservation of the historic bathhouses!
